The Schlosser Images Difference

Quality > Quantity

The process of bringing an image through the lens and to the final medium on which it rests, makes all the difference in its presence on the wall. At Schlosser Images, Alec aspires to bring as much visual stimulation to the end viewer as he receives beneath our great oceans in the process of capturing these moments in time. His practice is distinctive for using only the highest quality materials, and for experimenting with how various mediums and methods offer unique perspectives through the production process, that exceed his client’s expectations of quality and substance. His attention to detail is excessive in some way, but there is an excessiveness to ambition.

Emphasis on quality and a high attention to detail in production often means a limited yield. All pieces of art within a collection of work from Schlosser Images are of limited production. This ensures his clients know they are acquiring something truly unique, they aren't likely to see elsewhere. Each Image from a series is limited to a total of 62 prints.

Material Matters

Choosing the right combination of materials is crucial to bringing an image to life in a defined space. The selection of media upon which an image is to be viewed is just as pivotal in the production process as the artistic expression itself.

At Schlosser Images Alec likes to experiment with the use of different materials from low reflectivity glasses and acrylics, to high quality metals. Some of the mediums he commonly uses for his work include: acrylic, aluminum, epoxy, DiBond, Sintra, matte paper, lustre paper, glossy paper and canvas. He uses only the highest quality inks and toners specifically chosen for the medium upon which he intends an image to be depicted.

Unique materials make for unique experiences and are the difference between images that lie flat on a surface, and those that liven up a room and create inviting spaces. Alec works with a select group of people he trusts, to supply materials and provide production services of only the highest caliber, to ensure the end product is nothing short of flawless. Each piece in a series is examined under magnification several times before receiving Alec’s signature.

One on 1

The process of filling a room with art in a thoughtful elegant way may not be immediately clear to those that have never done it before. Selecting a number of pieces that will fill a space in a meaningful way means understanding the architecture, lighting, negative space and ambiance, as well as the needs and expectations of the client. Alec has experience as an art curator and a deep understanding of the connections between visual queues and the emotions they elicit. That connection takes a high precedence when filling a space used in a medical or therapeutic capacity.

Meeting with clients and working with them to choose the correct pieces of art to bring a room to life is what Alec lives for, and is one of the staples of Schlosser Images.  It is his hope that with each client who requests an art installation, they will come away from it with more than just a piece of art, but a unique experience with the artist one on one.
